500 WORDS, DAY 81: Writing & Life Recap

Day 81. A lot has changed since I started this endeavor on Day 1, which was July 1st of this year. For one, my wife and I completely rearranged our bedroom/home studio setup in order to optimize it for maximum efficiency, such as being able to control everything with everything else in the studio, as well as for the purpose of my upcoming YouTube channel for music hardware and software tutorials. Although the channel itself is upcoming, since I don’t think I’ll be uploading these videos on my current channel dedicated to my music, the project is definitely already in the works. I’ve been filming, recording, editing, learning more and more each day, and doing all kinds of things to get my videos ready for release when I start with them, probably at the end of this year or the start of next. My constant learning has also opened up many other doors in my mind, and I’ve been going down some crazy rabbit holes when it comes to music production, and more specifically hardware. It can get frustrating at times, but overall, it all feels like I giant puzzle I’m building, which includes music as well, so I have to say I’ve been enjoying it, especially as more and more elements of what I’ve been learning seem to be coming together over time. I’ve kept up my writing goal this far, simply because I’m very interested in seeing how my writing evolves, when I go through some of these posts many years down the road, and also because I’m interested in seeing how I evolve, and I know that this daily writing will give me a glimpse into the connections between everything in my life if I go over everything carefully in the future. Other goals haven’t been so lucky as to keep my attention, unfortunately. My wife and I have been doing our goal of learning French on Duolingo pretty much every day, although lately it seems to be much shorter sessions than before. I’ve always thought of it as fun to learn languages, having grown up in a Spanish and Portuguese-speaking household. Since French is so similar to both I thought it would be the best for me to get into, especially since I was already taking the classes in school. These days I have an extra motivation to learn quickly, because there are a lot of work opportunities, I see that ask for bilingual agents, especially when it comes to call center work, which is what I have the most experience with. It’s either that or a bachelor’s degree, which I don’t have, so I figured I’d get my French good enough to put on my resume and not feel like I’m lying, and that will open some doors for sure. I haven’t really mentioned this on here before, but it’s been almost a year that I’ve been out of work. Having gotten fired from my last call center job, I realized I’m very, very tired of that kind of work, but also realized that, unfortunately, there’s not much out there that I am interested in, or that I’m even qualified for. Anyway, it was actually a great relief at first, in a way, but unfortunately it looks like it’s about time for me to start working again. Well, start working at a job, that is. I’ve been working on my own projects this whole time. Anyway, I’ve been applying to some jobs, same old call center type of jobs. None have reached out so far, but then again, I haven’t really applied to too many. I know I need a job but it’s hard to make myself apply. I got my 500 words down for today, so I can’t go into much more detail into what I think of work, but if you read a bit of Bukowski, you’d have a pretty accurate picture.

If you have a minute please check out my song ‘unconditional gratitude.’ I appreciate you!
