I previously wrote about the funny feeling I get when I think about how deep I’ve gotten into synthesis, and music gear in general, over the last few years. I realize that actual physical gear is no longer even necessary these days for making music. A computer can easily take the place of a mixer, … Continue reading 500 WORDS, DAY 84: Music Creation & Consumerism

500 WORDS, DAY 68: Find Something You’re Interested in Learning
My current synth setup: MPC One, Digitakt & Digitone, Microfreak, TD-3 Today I’ve been using any free moment I’ve had to keep learning more and more about synthesizers and everything related to them. The fascination has been building up for years really, but now that I’m finally starting to put together a proper home studio, … Continue reading 500 WORDS, DAY 68: Find Something You’re Interested in Learning
500 WORDS, DAY 63: Music Production
Today I thought I’d write about something I spend a lot of time doing, maybe even most of my time even, or at least my free time. I decided I would write about music production today. I’ve been into music for more than a decade now. It all started with hip-hop, but the more music … Continue reading 500 WORDS, DAY 63: Music Production
500 WORDS, DAY 59: Rearranging My Home Studio
It’s been a busy couple of days. My wife and I have been restructuring our room/home studio. We’re both extremely happy with the results so far, and after almost three days of moving stuff around and all over the place, throwing out trash, cleaning up, and everything in between, it’s finally starting to look like … Continue reading 500 WORDS, DAY 59: Rearranging My Home Studio
500 WORDS, DAY 11: Waves That Carry Me Away
So, yesterday I mentioned that I’m excited to be working on a kind of “psychedelic ambient” album, the type of album I’ve been wanting to produce for a while now. I was saying that I’ve always been into everything trippy, and mentioned that it feels like there might be a connection between my fascination with … Continue reading 500 WORDS, DAY 11: Waves That Carry Me Away
500 WORDS, DAY 8: The Ever-Changing Tides of Human Interest
This is Day 8 of my goal of posting 500 daily words on here. I appreciate any and everyone reading this, and if you’ve been reading these posts from day one then I super appreciate you! Today’s post picks up on yesterday’s topic, exploring the mind of someone who might just be too creative their own good, someone who can’t stick to one thing and follow through with it in the long term, but who is moved, so to speak, by the ever-changing tides of his or her artistic, philosophical, and/or creative interests.
NEWEST RELEASE: ‘back to the beats’ vol. 1 (2011) (500 WORDS, DAY 5)
This is the third edition of my ‘back to the beats’ series, the medium I’ve finally chosen to get all of my rap beats out, meaning beats of mine that have a rap track structure, usually consisting of an intro, a couple verses and hooks, and an outro section. I have way too many dope beats just sitting on my hard drive since I don’t really rap as often as I produce, beats dating all the way back to 2011 when I was only 17, and listening back on them it just felt like a shame to keep them all only for myself to listen to.
“Rebel Spirit,” My First Album on Streaming Platforms.
I had been in my birth country of Honduras at the time of my 2 previous solo rap releases, in 2017 for Musical Alchemy and in 2019 for Expanding our Horizons, and during the time I was there I got the chance to work on some music that didn't really fit the feel of either … Continue reading “Rebel Spirit,” My First Album on Streaming Platforms.
DAY 26 (1000 WORDS, 3rd attempt)
Day 26 of writing on my blog, nice. It's also my fifteenth or sixteenth day of posting daily beats on Beatstars, and now that I have a decent catalogue of beats I have to start looking into marketing strategies to try to generate sales. One strategy is simply messaging artists and letting them know that … Continue reading DAY 26 (1000 WORDS, 3rd attempt)
DAY 15 (1000 WORDS, 3rd attempt)
My favorite way of making music is on the MPC One. When I first started my music journey at eleven or twelve years old I started with FL Studio, since I was just a kid with a laptop and not a lot of money saved up that I could spend on gear. I had fun … Continue reading DAY 15 (1000 WORDS, 3rd attempt)
