Today is my hundredth day in a row of writing and posting at least five hundred words on this blog. It’s cool to see that my thoughts resonate with some people, even if it’s just a few people here and there. One of the coolest things about reading something like philosophy, or other people’s ideas in general, is finding ideas that are the same, or at least very similar, to yours own. This is especially the case when you’re reading something that was written a very long time ago. In a way, coming across passages like these reminds us that we are all very similar, and we have always been. Of course, we are all very different and unique, but we are also completely similar in our humanity. In a way, reading these types of things make me feel understood, as if someone before me has felt the exact same way as me, or has contemplated the exact same issue that’s on my mind at the present moment, even if they didn’t necessarily arrive at the same conclusion as me, or to any conclusion at all. It’s always been very interesting to me that certain things are just part of the general human experiences, so they have to have been understood in some way, and therefore discussed, or at least privately contemplated, by humans of any and every age before our own. Nature, relationships, health… the nature of life and the world itself. It’s amazing to me just how connected we all really are, even when as we continue to ignore that fact, and as we continue to become more and more individual and separated from any sense of community. We are connected in ways we can’t even begin to comprehend, and one of those ways is how I decided to write this today, and you, supposedly randomly, decided to read it. I mean, you decided to read this for a reason, and I appreciate you for that! What I mean to say is that, when I wrote this, there was no way I could imagine your reasons for going online this particular day, or for opening WordPress, or for searching up specific search terms on Google. It just happened, just like everything else is happening. We may see each other in the street tomorrow, and I won’t know that you read my post. You won’t know I’m the one who wrote it either. So, we are always connected in strange ways. Were you maybe meant to read this? Who knows. Maybe you were. Then again, maybe not. Maybe it just happened, just like everything else simply happens. Actions and reactions, and more and more and more reactions, each reaction multiplied by infinity. So, since today is my hundredth straight day of writing, I would like to thank you for reading this, especially if you have read any of my previous posts up until this point. It really means a lot to me since, at the end of the day, I’m really just writing these posts for myself, as well as for whoever stumbles across them for whatever reason. My thoughts are just ideas I’m setting free to float in the universe, or at least in the minds of my readers. It’s all part of the randomness of the universe. After all, even if every single action and reaction, and everything that happens in our lives, were to be somehow totally predetermined, and even if everything, every single thing, happened for a reason, we still wouldn’t be aware of it, so it would still seem random to us, for the entirety of our lives. So, random is an accurate description of this life, and I enjoy that. You have to learn to enjoy it, because the randomness is here, and it has always been there. You either understand that, and get on its side, or you forever live in fear of uncertainty. Not a hundred percent sure about that last idea I just wrote, but it sounds profound… I think I’ll give it some more thought and see where that goes. Thank you again for reading! Much love y’all.
