Appreciation for those who paved the way. Gratitude towards those who came before. Respecting tradition. Understanding it isn’t the end-all be-all. Some rules are meant to be broken. Things are meant to change. Change is the only constant. We need to exercise caution. There are so many ways to mess it all up. Venturing into the unknown. Life is constant inspiration. It’s a right, but it’s also a responsibility. Inspiration. Over and over again. Catching our attention. Everywhere we look. Absolutely overwhelming. The love is profound. It touches our soul. The pain is heartbreaking. The void is a trip. It’s a scary one. Life is still amazing. We continue living… trying to live… trying to find a path, or to make one… to make a way into the future. Trying to built on the ruins of past mistakes. Excitement turned to disappointment. Bitterness. There’s no suitable jacket for the existential dread. It’s cold. Inspiration is everywhere, but that takes away its appeal. Grandeur. Taken for granted. Ignored… or ridiculed. Misunderstood. Discriminated. Constantly surrounded by so many people, yet completely alone. Seemingly completely alone. If it seems like it then it might as well be true. True loneliness. Emptiness. The need to escape. Individualism. Growth. Freedom. Death of community. We are social creatures. The need to escape intensifies. Materialism… consumerism. Want turns to need. It’s never enough. Needs become extreme. The need for things, becomes the need for money. Money isn’t ever enough, because the possibilities are endless. The need for power. Strange desires. Depraved. Enraged. Angry at the lies, and the illusion that was believed. There’s nothing more. That’s all there is. You were sold a dream. You bought it. It was only a dream. An illusion. We keep trying to change the world, but it’s impossible because the world is constantly changing us. All we can hope to change is ourselves. We are the world. We are the change. We are, and we are not. We are one thing now, and another the next. We are the universe, and all its endless possibilities. We can’t see it. We think we are separate. Victims. Victimized. We suffer more than we need to. We enforce our suffering on future generations. We pass on our fear. We think fear is what we need. We feel like fear will keep us safe. Quite the opposite. If the world does not devour us from the outside, we can be sure that the fear of it will devour us from within. There is no escape. There is no means of escape. The sooner we realize and understand this, the sooner we can come to peace with it. The sooner we can come to peace with life. With ourselves. With others. We are all in the same boat. Life is strange, indeed, but it doesn’t need to be as complicated as we make it. Just because I don’t always apply this to my own life, doesn’t mean I can see the wisdom in it and share it with others. Maybe if I just keep repeating it it’ll finally stick for me. I appreciate you reading.
